Leveraging an understanding of both family systems and cognitive behavioral approaches to therapy, I seek to find the best way to connect with clients. The work of Gottman and Allendar are foundations for marriage counseling in my practice.

I became a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) after completing a Master of Arts in Counseling in 2004 at Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, TN. I pursued additional coursework and training through Indiana Wesleyan to pursue licensure in the state of Indiana in 2013. Prior to private practice, additional experience was gained in a college counseling center, a private mental health clinic, and the St. Vincent stress center with children and adolescents.

I am trained in EMDR. This therapy was developed for the treatment of PTSD. Current research has been expanded to show its efficacy in almost every are of counseling. It is particularly useful in getting to the root of the issue quickly and effectively

John Washam

John gradated with his BBA in accounting in 2001, in addition he sat for and passed his CPA exam soon after graduation. He handles all billing and accounting issues.

John has a passion for mental health in his spare time he enjoys hiking, drinking iced coffee , and volunteering for various social justice and social service causes.

Our Facilities

We are located near the Nora area of Indianapolis. Look for the Executive North Office Park located at 941 E 86th Street. It is on the south side of 86th street.

We are on the first floor of a two story brick building. You enter at the door marked 941 that faces 86th street.

Once inside the front doors ,take a quick right and our office is on the right. You can come into suite 120 and I will get you from the waiting area.
